We at Street Therapy and Stories for LA are working on developing an Internet broadcasting network and a Black Entertainment mobile app. The broadcasting network and the mobile app will be cross promoted. We will begin broadcasting live from the Cafe Entourage in Hollywood on the 22nd.
We recognize the power of celebrity interviews. We did a television show in Virginia a few years ago called Live From VA and some of the celebrity interviews that I did have rack up some impressive views on YouTube:
We also recognize that smartphone apps are the next big thing. Consider Apple alone, on July 7, 2011 they announced that over 15 billion apps have been downloaded from its revolutionary App Store™ by the more than 200 million iPhone®, iPad® and iPod touch® users worldwide. The App Store offers more than 425,000 apps and developers have created an incredible array of over 100,000 native iPad apps. Apple has paid developers over $2.5 billion to date.
Forbes magazine recently named Tyler Perry the highest-paid man in Entertainment. There is power and profit in the Black entertainment dollar. Over the last 30 years African-Americans, have for the most part missed out on the weath opportunities created by the computer and Internet revolution. Lets not miss the boat with the mobile revolution.
Here is an example of a guy making over $800 a day on a mobile app, the app is free and he doesn't program. The idea we have for a Black Entertainment app has the potential of doing better numbers than this:

The app that we have in mind would let people know what events are going on locally. There would be a database back end that would drive a recommendation engine, something like Netflix. It would also allow venue owners and promoters an opportunity to offer deals. It would be a free app with in app purchases, initially mostly Groupon type deals.
